We currently do not share our tuition rates via our website. We are more than happy to email our rates to you or discuss them over the phone.
We do not offer drop-in care. We do have some options of part-time care. Part-time care would be enrolling your child for five half-days or three full days a week.
Childway is open from 7:00 am-6:15 pm, Monday-Friday.
Childway is closed on New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Staff, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Staff Development Day, and Thanksgiving Day. We are closed the days before and after Thanksgiving Day and a Holiday Break in December
Childway is currently enrolled in the Maryland Excels Program and we are currently in the process of becoming MSDE certified.
We prefer to conduct tours by appointment; either through our website or through email. However, we also welcome walk-in visits. Stop by during our business hours and we would be happy to give you a tour.
Come by and take a tour of our facility and set up a time to meet with the Director. During this meeting, the Director will ask you a few questions about your child and explain the forms that need to be completed in the enrollment notebook.

Our centers have fully functional fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, and smoke detectors. Our front entrance is continuously monitored by surveillance cameras.
All our centers have an open door policy and parents are more than welcome to come by unannounced!
We encourage potty training by incorporating it into our curriculum. We suggest that children try it when they show curiosity about friends who have already learned. Our classrooms are equipped with low toilets so that children can use them by themselves. We accept accidents as part of the learning process and gladly help children change into clean clothes. Children will be taken to the potty several times per day. They will be taught the proper way to pull pants up and down, wipe, flush and wash hands. Once you feel that your child is ready to move from diapers to underwear, we ask that you start this process by allowing them to practice wearing underwear over the weekend. The last step in the transition is to have a conference with your child’s teacher to discuss the progress being made at home and school and set a date for your child to start wearing underwear full-time.
We generally keep a ratio of 1:3 in our infant and toddler classes with each classroom having between two to four teachers and eight to twelve children. Our preschool classroom generally has two teachers and fifteen to twenty-five children.
We encourage positive guidance. Positive guidance teaches children where limits are set, how to maintain control of their bodies, and how to problem solve in the event of the conflict. When an issue arises, teachers provide positive guidance and help them to realize how to make safe, healthy choices.
We accept payments via cash or check.
During our initial parent interview, we discuss action plan for children that have allergies. Our teachers are trained to avoid food sharing, they closely observe children during mealtimes, and they make sure that art activities do not include allergic foods or ingredients. We also have a strict NO PEANUT policy as well.
Every time a toy is placed in a child’s mouth, it is set aside until it can be cleaned and disinfected. Toys are also sanitized each evening. We have a hired cleaning crew to thoroughly clean each of our centers every night.
Communication is one of our highest priorities. We believe that the quality if children’s development is dependent on the communication between parents and their teachers. We communicate via phone calls as well as family conferences twice per year. You will also receive a weekly curriculum newsletter from your child’s teacher to keep you up-to-date on your child’s classroom activities.
Absolutely, if weather permits.
